Routine, Expulsion, and Eretz Israel

The Besheva newspaper asked me to write about "4 years to the expulsion- What are the lessons?"

Here is the translation of the article written in Hebrew:

Routine, Expulsion, and Eretz Israel
by Nadia Matar

Four years after the destruction of Gush Katif and northern Samaria. What are the lessons? What must we learn from the expulsion, so that in another four years we will not have to write, Heaven forbid, of the lessons to be learned from the expulsion from Judea and Samaria?

In my humble opinion, we must, first of all, internalize the fact that we do not have the luxury of immersing ourselves in routine life. Rather, each of us must take part in the struggle. I will never forget that meeting in Neveh Dekalim, about a year before the expulsion, that was organized by the more hard-line activists of the Gush, in which a proposal was already raised to double or even triple the number of Gush inhabitants by bringing new residents into the houses, or even in tents in the yards. One woman stood up and angrily declared: "I don't agree! I refuse to ruin my lawn, and I won't agree to turn my settlement into a refugee camp! I want to continue with my everyday life!" One of the speakers turned to her and wondered: "Don't you think that it's worth it to somewhat undermine routine life for a few months, in order to preserve the routine in the long term?"

The proposal, however, was rejected, and the leaders of the Gush preferred to continue everyday life, taken to an extreme, to the extent that supporters from the outside, with their families, who wanted to move to the Gush, live in the settlements, and be partners in the struggle, had to pass an acceptance committee, even a few weeks before the expulsion. Many were not accepted, and they had no choice but to leave the Gush. Our family, too, was not accepted in Neveh Dekalim. Apparently because we were identified with the "activist" wing. And so our family and additional Women in Green members stayed in Kfar Yam with the family of Arik and Datia Yitzhaki, who received us with open arms.

It is difficult for me to commit those memories to writing. Our brothers from Gush Katif suffer enough, and I don't intend to hurt them by raising these matters, but I feel obligated to speak about the subject, as the learning of lessons for the struggle over Judea and Samaria. I do not mean to say that we should erect tents in our yards now, but today, in light of the bitter experience undergone by our brothers from the Gush, we must understand that "routine" and "expulsion" are connected to each other. [In Hebrew, routine is "shigra" and expulsion is "gerush"-both words with similar roots].

Already now, when there is just talk of the destruction of the outposts, that everyone knows is the first stage of the destruction of the settlement enterprise as a whole, with the goal of establishing a Palestinian state instead, we must make the mental switch and internalize that each of us has the responsibility and obligation to leave our everyday lives and participate in the struggle for Eretz Israel.

Here is the place to raise an additional subject, one that is no less painful: in my humble opinion, we lost the struggle for Gush Katif and northern Samaria because we did not relate to Eretz Israel as a supreme value for which self-sacrifice is needed. If there had been some preposterous government decree that IDF soldiers must enter the homes of Jews on Yom Kippur and forcibly feed them nonkosher food, I assume and hope that a wall-to-wall consensus would take shape among our public on the need to refuse to obey this anti-Jewish and anti-moral order. The victims of the "force-feeding" would not begin a "With Love We Will Be Victorious" campaign, but rather, they, too, would vigorously resist.

And I ask: Why is what is so clear regarding Shabbat and kashrut observance is not clear regarding Eretz Israel?

This is the one million dollar question I have been asking myself for the past four years since the expulsion.

If Eretz Israel is a supreme value, like Shabbat and kashrut, then the way to struggle against the decrees of the destruction of settlements and the handing over of parts of the homeland to the enemy entails self-sacrifice. For us, we can translate this self-sacrifice into refusing orders and mass nonviolent civil disobedience. I am certain that if these two methods of struggle had been implemented in 2005, we would have saved the Gush.

And thus,in my opinion, the main lesson to be drawn from the expulsion, is that we must understand that Eretz Israel is a supreme value for which we leave our everyday lives and go forth to a real struggle, and not only to symbolic protest demonstrations. It is ironic that it is the peoples of the world who teach us of the importance and centrality of Eretz Israel. The peoples of the world don't care if we all study Torah, eat kosher, or observe Shabbat. But if five Jews climb some hill in the area of Judea and Samaria and dare to build a hut on it - the UN, the European Union, the Obama administration, and who knows who else go out of their minds and try to prevent us from doing this.

Undoubtedly, in light of the brazenness of the Obama administration and the Europeans, that are returning us to the time of the White Paper, more and more elements within the people of Israel are coming to their senses. With G-d's help, the tremendous forces inherent in our people will be realized, and this time we will succeed in defending Eretz Israel, and increase building, settlement, and development.

Don't Expel Jews From Gaza!
Read and weep for the Israeli Jews of Gush Katif/Gaza, on whose behalf I wrote this article in July 2005 before their illegal expulsion by the bribed Ariel Sharon and criminal company working for foreign interests. Many of them remain homeless, depressed and basically abandoned by their lying government -- their former homes history, stripped bare and destroyed by marauding Arab enemies who are now fighting among themselves, one terrorist group (Hamas) against another terrorist group (Fatah).

Ariel Sharon: From Zionist to Traitor
General Sharon could have enforced peace through strength, securing Israel a hard-earned victory, rather than rewarding terrorism and undermining Israeli security, breaching Jerusalem's sovereignty, permitting Roman wolves in sheep's clothing, "peacekeepers," to pollute the Holy Land of Israel.

EU to Conquer Anglo-Saxons and Jews
I've come to the sad conclusion, the grievous understanding, that Israel's leaders have often sold out their land and people to foreign interests, bloating their personal bank accounts at Israel's expense, and that the pressure was often an excuse for them to do what they had already agreed upon: continue the lying peace process of phased destruction, dismantle the Jewish Homeland, dismember their Mother piece by piece and pervert the Promised Land of Israel into an accursed "Palestine" (Ps. 83:4).

Mark Kirk—Israel’s Best Friend in Congress—Announces Senate Bid

Jerry Gordon interviewed Rep. Mark S. Kirk for NER here.

This article is by Dr. Richard Benkin.

Last November, Israpundit carried an article by Jerry Gordon, “Two Who Won Against the Democratic Tsunami.” One was Congressman Mark Kirk (R-IL). Kirk, whom Gordon described as “very pro-Israel,” won a fifth term in Congress despite a perfect Democratic storm: the Republican brand was in tatters; Illinois had become one of the most reliably “blue” states in the nation; Kirk’s district was trending heavily Democratic; the Democratic National Committee was spending millions trying to unseat Kirk; and there was Barack Obama, who carried Kirk’s 10th District by 61 percent. Yet, Kirk prevailed in part because, as Gordon wrote, he is “one of the most effective, intelligent and moderate GOP members in Congress.” That assessment is shared widely on both sides of the aisle in Washington and has helped make Kirk an effective legislator.

On Monday, July 20, Democrats got what they could not get at the ballot box when Kirk announced that he would not seek re-election to his House seat in 2010. “It’s probably the only way that Democrats would ever get that [Congressional] seat,” quipped one 10th District resident on hand for Kirk’s announcement. But Democrats also got a bigger headache because at the same time Kirk announced he was running for the United States Senate. In fact, Kirk’s expected candidacy has been giving Democratic leaders fits.

He is running for the Senate seat formerly held by Obama; the seat that disgraced Democratic Governor Rod Blagojevich is accused of trying to sell to the highest bidder; the seat whose current occupant, Roland Burris, is accused of winning in that lottery. Burris has become such a liability for Democrats that—led by Senate Majority Whip, Dick Durbin (D-IL)—they have been urging him not to run for a full term. When Burris finally bowed to reality, however, it left Democrats without a credible candidate who can come close to Kirk’s national, foreign policy, and pro-Israel credentials.

In fact, one of the only things that the three likely Democratic candidates share is the lack of any pro-Israel record. The most prominent and only announced Democratic candidate is Illinois Treasurer Alexi Giannoulias. The closest thing he has to a record on Israel is that he did not stop Illinois’ purchase of Israeli bonds—a purchase he justified solely as a good investment. Another is businessman Chris Kennedy whose only claim to fame is being the late Robert F. Kennedy’s son. The third, Chicago Urban League President Cheryle Jackson, shared a podium last August with Otis Moss, pastor of Rev. Jeremiah Wright’s Trinity United Church of Christ; and as Blogojevich’s spokesperson, justified the appointment of the Nation of Islam’s Minister of Protocol to a state hate crimes commission, saying the Farrakhan associate shares the commission’s goals of eliminating hate crimes and discrimination. None have ever been to Israel. Giannoulis has stated many times that he owes his office to Obama, and all three are supporters of the President and his policies.

Kirk, on the other hand, is arguably Israel’s best friend in Congress. He was personally responsible for convincing the Bush Administration to give Israel enhanced missile defense after he saw the danger on a trip to a forward military base in Israel. (Kirk has been a Naval Intelligence Office since 1989, has combat experience, and was once named Naval Intelligence Officer of the Year.) He and Congressman Steven Rothman (D-NJ) have led efforts to end US funding for UNWRA—the UN agency devoted solely to promoting the system of Palestinian Arab refugees, a designation he challenges. With regard to Hezbollah, Kirk told Gordon “despite the UN peacekeeping force and $500 million of US taxpayers’ money that we simply reset the stage for another tragedy.” He has characterized attempts to force negotiations with the Palestinian Authority as trying to “chase down every terrorist group on the West Bank and Gaza… there are times when you have to hang tough.” An effective human rights advocate, Kirk (together with me), won the freedom of Bangladeshi journalist Salah Uddin Shoaib Choudhury after he was arrested and tortured for exposing the rise of Islamists and urging relations with Israel. As a Congressional aide, Kirk helped free several Soviet refusniks. With much of official Washington trying to find “nuanced” positions, Kirk remains undaunted. In April, after Secretary of State Hillary Clinton told the House Appropriations Committee that Israel would have to comply with the Administration’s demands, he replied that the committee would then have to cut appropriations to the Palestinian Authority.

This election is critical for Israel at a time when many in Washington are ready to trying to force suicidal agreements on the Jewish State. In announcing for the Senate, Kirk pledged to fight those efforts, “And to supporters of America’s strongest friend in the Middle East – Israel’s greatest ally in Washington will be Senator Mark Kirk of Illinois.”

Neither Jewish nor evangelical, Kirk’s commitment for Israel rests on two propositions: that it is the right thing to do; and that it is and always has been in the best interests of the United States. None of his prospective opponents, on the other hand, will oppose the policies of their political godfather and what has been described as the most anti-Israel administration in the Jewish State’s history.

Conflict in Jerusalem
They've placed barbed wire all around their "yard," freshly tarred their roof, have an Israeli flag flying & are still clearing out all the junk the Arabs threw in there for the past 7 years. It was exciting to drive through that Palestinian village as they looked on. Earlier, being hot as usual, I started to roll down my window when they reminded me it's better to be hot than get a stone in the face!

Islam is Evil

Quotes From and About Islam

"The sword of Muhammad and the Quran are the most fatal enemies of civilization, liberty, and the truth which the world has yet known."
- The eminent orientalist Sir William Muir (1819-1905)

"Individual Moslems may show splendid qualities, but the influence of the religion paralyzes the social development of those who follow it. No stronger retrograde force exists in the world. Far from being moribund, Mohammedanism is a militant and proselytizing faith. It has already spread throughout Central Africa, raising fearless warriors at every step."
-- Sir Winston Churchill - circa 1899

Ayatollah Khomeini

Khomeini accordingly delivered notorious rebuke to the Islam-is-a-religion-of-peace crowd: “Those who know nothing of Islam pretend that Islam counsels against war. Those [who say this] are witless. Islam says: Kill all the unbelievers just as they would kill you all! Does this mean that Muslims should sit back until they are devoured by [the unbelievers]? Islam says: Kill them, put them to the sword and scatter [their armies].... Islam says: Whatever good there is exists thanks to the sword and in the shadow of the sword! People cannot be made obedient except with the sword! The sword is the key to Paradise, which can be opened only for the Holy Warriors! There are hundreds of other [Qur’anic] psalms and Hadiths [sayings of the Prophet] urging Muslims to value war and to fight. Does all this mean that Islam is a religion that prevents men from waging war? I spit upon those foolish souls who make such a claim.”

Behind the Veil of Islam
It's sad to see some pull the veil over the eyes of innocent Americans with disarming and deceitful portrayals of Islam as well-assimilated and innocuous. Let the rest of the story be told

Ohio Mosque Promotes Murder!
I repeated the "spiritual lesson" to the imam and asked him if the Muslims had any such saying. He replied that the Jews create such spurious sayings in order to discredit Islam and Arabs. I then shocked him, and the audience, when I asked: "If that's not a Muslim story, and is spurious and created by the Jews, then why would you, as the leader of this Islamic community permit that very story to be published in your newsletter last month?" He was speechless.

Toledo, Islam, and Terrorists
One day they purposely showed me a newsletter from the Islamic Center in Perrysburg that had a story from the Haddith -- saying attributed to Mohammad -- that spoke of a war in the last days between Jews and Muslims, and how Jews would hide behind trees and the trees would say, "There's a Jew behind me, kill him!" except for one tree that would shelter the Jews.

Death to America: Major American Cities Targeted by Terrorists?
Will Providence permit foreign murderers in our midst (in attitude, if not yet in action) to unleash nuclear fires within our major cities? Will militant minorities work with them against us? Won't our British-Israelite brethren suffer the same within their respective biblical inheritances?

Temple Institute to Build Sacrificial Altar on Tisha B'av

Temple Institute to Build Sacrificial Altar on Tisha B'av
by Yehudah Lev Kay

(IsraelNN.com) The Temple Institute will begin building the sacrificial altar on Thursday, Tisha B’av, a fast day when Jews mourn the destruction of the Temple some 2,000 years ago.

The sacrificial altar was located in the center of the Temple, and upon it the Kohanim (priests) offered the numerous voluntary and obligatory sacrifices commanded in the Bible.

The Temple Institute, which has already built many of the vessels for the Holy Temple, such as the ark and the menorah, has now embarked on a project to build the altar. Construction begins Thursday in Mitzpe Yericho (east of Jerusalem) at 5:30 p.m.

“Unfortunately, we cannot currently build the altar in its proper place, on the Temple Mount,” Temple Institute director Yehudah Glick said. “We are building an altar of the minimum possible size so that we will be able to transport it to the Temple when it is rebuilt."

THE FINAL JERUSALEM PLAN...FOR THE UMPTEENTH TIME...AGAIN
by Barry Chamish

So in a four day span in late July, the US sent four insiders to force Israel into freezing home construction in its own land and capital. Naturally, the Obama administration announced that four bigwigs landing in barely half a week was just a "co-incidence." No pressure...just blatant deceit and lying.
Let us, once more, make the obvious observation.
George Mitchell, US Envoy to the Middle East, lands in Syria on Sunday before travelling to Israel and, SHOCK!!!:

Mitchell is a member of the Council On Foreign Relations (CFR). Google it yourself.
On Monday, Defense Secretary Robert Gates (CFR member) enjoyed his stay and threats in Jerusalem.
He was followed the next day by National Security Advisor Gen. James Jones, a member of the Tri-Lateral Commission.
And on Wednesday, token Jew boy, Dennis Ross of the Tri-Lateral Commission, arrived to prove that a Jew is behind the "administration's" plans. Like they started with Obama. In fact, they began many lunatics before.

Thank goodness Obama was elected. McCain (CFR) would have been called "the best President Israel ever had" while doing the same thing. But almost every Israeli opposes Obama, even the peace-loving left:

http://www.jpost.com/servlet/Satellite?cid=1248277865525&pagename=JPAr

What is genuinely puzzling, however, is why Obama supporters appear
equally deaf to the anguished cries of Israel's left, which has long
advocated precisely these policies. When the editorial staff of
Haaretz, a bastion of Israel's hard left, pens three opinion pieces
criticizing Obama in the space of 10 days, it ought to be clear even
to left-of-center American Jews that Obama has an Israel problem.

O
n the ground, note the upwell of sudden opposition against Barack Hussein! He wants to stop completion of 20 Jewish apartments in Israel's capital neighborhood of Sheikh Jarrah, and the whole country responds against him. After all, who is he to tell us, where to live in Jerusalem? Why don't we tell him where to live in Washington? So, 1000 people, of a group not infiltrated by the government, http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=H27TUyXm8HQ&feature=PlayList&p=158435502B0D6AAA&index=0&playnext=1 organize an anti-American protest before the bigshots arrive.

Demonstration in Jerusalem this Monday 27 July
On the day Mitchell is arriving...6:30 PM at Paris Square, near PM's house. Approximately 8 PM -- march to American Consulate on Agron Street.

Calling on Israel to simply say "no" to US pressure to freeze
settlement activity and to divide the capital, close to a thousand
people rallied outside Prime Minister Binyamin Netanyahu's Jerusalem
home Monday evening.

"People tell us that it is impossible to stand up against American
pressure; there is no bigger lie," yelled out Dani Dayan, who heads
the Council of Jewish Communities of Judea, Samaria and the Gaza
Strip, which helped to organize the event. It was timed to coincide
with US envoy George Mitchell's visit to Israel.

Now look at the influence Obama is having. According to the government, since his election, not counting Jerusalem, the settler population rose from 280,000 to 300,000. In 6 months, the price of a 3 room apartment in Maaleh Adumim, rose from $215,000 to $244,000. All because of new demand.
Bless OBAMA!

Because here is the goal of his superiors, which according to superficial, uninformed and ignorant mass Israeli "thinking," must be his intentions:

JERUSALEM, July 24 (UPI) -- An Israeli-Palestinian document stipulates travel routes, security measures and final borders for a Palestinian state, an Israeli paper said.
The document published in Yedioth Aharonoth Friday reveals for the first time plans for a gradual Israeli withdrawal from the West Bank in a 30-month period, travel restrictions for Israelis and Palestinians, security arrangements and details of the final borders.

Three West Bank highways will be designated for sole Israeli use. Motorists will not have to carry passports but will be provided with a GPS tracking system and panic button for the trip, the paper said. A motorist who strays from the designated route and enters a Palestinian controlled area, will be arrested by members of a multinational force, and returned to Israel to stand trial, the paper said.

The document was completed in recent months by a joint Israeli-Palestinian team, and made available this week to U.S. Secretary of State
Hillary Clinton and U.S. Middle East envoy Gen. Jim Jones, the paper said.

Palestinians and Israelis will be able to enter Jerusalem's Old City without carrying passports. A multinational force stationed in the Old City will be on hand to enforce law and order, and will have the power to make arrests, the paper said. A separate multinational force will be deployed on the Temple Mount.

Don't you just love it? Israel's largest Israeli newspaper by far, reports that the Obama/Clinton (husband CFR)/Jones plan is to divide Jerusalem and make the settlers live in a Kafka nightmare. And I add, the Palestinians are in the same terrifying dream, but they get a state capital in Jerusalem out of it. For them, it's a terrific reverie. Once they achieve their dreamland:

http://www.ynetnews.com/articles/0,7340,L-3750930,00.html

As the Fatah movement prepares for its upcoming leadership convention, a
senior group member says the event will be used to display Fatah's
commitment to the armed struggle against Israel.

Preparations for the convention, scheduled for August 4, are in full force
at this time. During a series of preliminary meetings ahead of the event,
senior Fatah official Rafik al-Natsheh said that the group will not be
recognizing Israel.

To those who know my work, this is boring. I've repeated the real plan since December of 1993, time after time, over and over, unending, non-stop:

From my book Save Israel:
  1. www. lulu .com/content/517809
In March 1994, the newspaper Chadashot revealed a most remarkable secret of the Middle East "peace" process. A friend of Shimon Peres, the French intellectual Marek Halter, claimed in an interview that in May 1993, he delivered a letter from Peres to the pope. Within, Peres promised to internationalize Jerusalem, granting the UN political control of the Old City of Jerusalem, and the Vatican hegemony of the holy sites within. The UN would give the PLO a capital within its new territory and East Jerusalem would become a kind of free trade zone of world diplomacy.

From the Prez of Israel himself:

http://story.news.yahoo.com/news?tmpl=story&cid=586&ncid=586&e=3&u=/nm/20030722/wl_nm/mideast_jerusalem_dc
Peres Raises 'World Capital' Solution for Jerusalem
JERUSALEM (Reuters) - Shimon Peres, the head of Israel's opposition Labor Party, has suggested resolving Israeli-Palestinian conflict over Jerusalem by putting its holy sites under U.N. stewardship, a spokesman said Tuesday.
His plan calls for declaring a holy area of sites sacred to Jews, Christians and Muslims in Jerusalem's old walled city as a "world capital," with the U.N. Secretary-General serving as mayor, Peres' spokesman Yoram Dori told Reuters.
Israel claims Jerusalem as its capital, including the Arab eastern part captured in the 1967 Middle East War and annexed in a move that is not recognized internationally. Palestinians want to make East Jerusalem capital of the state they hope to establish in the West Bank and Gaza Strip (
news - web sites) under a U.S.-backed peace plan.

details just how compromised Israel has become – both wittingly and unwittingly - caught up in the plans of the Council of Foreign Relations, the Vatican and the ever-pervasive 'Jewish' Sabateans. Too many these days think that these groups have no real teeth but as this book demonstrates their plans are far from innocent and their dismembering of the Jewish State is going from strength to strength. The book is of course disturbing, yet at the same time liberating, as for so many of us the 'official story' of Israel has never really added up – and here we can understand the Real Story – and even one hopes, try and expose the lies, plans, cover-ups and conspiracies and save Israel while there is still time.

Still, as Israelis apply for passports to travel on their own roads, and get GPS apparati shoved down their throats, or, refusing this, be arrested by international troops in their land...
And while these troops guard the Old City of Jerusalem, ready to arrest and hold them for any infraction...And while more of these troops guard their ancient Temple, ready to pounce for all pretexts...
Israelis still reject who these "Americans" are. They just know something is wrong, and anyone, namely me, who dares tell them the facts is ridiculed, because somehow, this insanity has a good explanation.
Which must be anything but heavily researched fact.

American Jews - Stand up and be counted

Candidly Speaking: American Jews - Stand up and be counted
July 28, 2009
Isi Leibler, THE JERUSALEM POST

Ignore the soothing denials; the reality is that the crucial Israeli-US relationship is at stake.

Over the years, American Jews have established remarkably sophisticated agencies to advance the Jewish/Israeli cause. The pro-Israel lobby, AIPAC, helped create a bipartisan pro-Israel environment in Congress. American Jews (until recently) had no qualms in criticizing their own government when they felt it was behaving unjustly toward the Jewish state. Nor were they intimidated by accusations of dual loyalties. Indeed, they took pride in contrasting their assertiveness to that of European Jews, whom they frequently dismissed as "trembling Israelites."

Nevertheless, to this day American Jews cringe when they recall the behavior of their forbears in the 1940s. Fearful of an anti-Semitic backlash and mesmerized by the popularity and perceived moral infallibility of Franklin Roosevelt, the Jewish establishment, to its eternal shame, remained silent when their president refused to act on behalf of the doomed Jews of Europe.

However, in the post-war era, aside from Dwight Eisenhower's brutal threats in the wake of the 1956 Suez Campaign and a few brushes with presidents George H. W. Bush and Jimmy Carter, American-Jewish supporters of Israel were usually in sync with the White House. They certainly never encountered anything comparable to the confrontation looming with the Obama administration.

The current situation is especially sensitive because it is commonly believed that Barack Obama's strategy relating to Israel is being orchestrated by two key Jewish members of his administration, Rahm Emanuel and David Axelrod. Worse still, they may have succeeded in dividing the Jewish leadership.

American-Jewish lay leaders are basically unknown to the general public.

The three principal agencies promoting Jewish interests to the public are directed by civil servants - Malcolm Hoenlein of the Presidents' Conference, Abe Foxman of the Anti-Defamation League and David Harris of the American Jewish Committee, all of whom are dedicated professionals.

THE ADMINISTRATION is now seeking to exploit the weakness of the lay leadership. In line with established practice, as political tensions intensified, the Presidents' Conference (representing 52 major Jewish organizations) requested a meeting with the president. The White House agreed, but insisted on determining who would participate. Without consultation, critics like Morton Klein of the Zionist Organization of America were excluded while Israel-bashing groups like J Street and US Peace Now were invited. The administration thus not only provided equal status to fringe groups, it obliged mainstream organizations to share a platform with groups whose raison d'Ăªtre is to force Israel to make additional unilateral concessions. During Operation Cast Lead, J Street even publicly condemned Israel's campaign against Hamas.

The reluctance of the Presidents' Conference to reject this arrangement may be a major strategic blunder. It enables the White House to determine who represents the Jewish community, and apply divide-and-conquer tactics against them. In short, it provides a mechanism by which the Obama administration can create an "amen" environment free of troublemakers.

AMERICAN JEWS face a watershed. Nearly 80 percent of them voted for Obama. That surely strengthens their right to convey concerns to the president. However, many of the lay leaders are wealthy philanthropists unaccustomed to political confrontations. Moreover, fearful of jeopardizing donations from Obama acolytes, organizations are reluctant to adopt controversial positions. This in turn makes it extraordinarily difficult for Jewish civil servants to carry the brunt of initiating opposition to a highly popular president.

That mainstream American-Jewish leaders lack a strategic plan at such a time is disconcerting. At the meeting with Obama, most participants appear to have been overwhelmed. Press reports suggest that most lay leaders remained silent, with some even expressing support for Obama's policies. "It was a wonderful exchange," gushed Andrea Weinstein, chair of the Jewish Council for Public Affairs.

"I believe the president got the impression that there is broad support for his policies and some difference on tactical levels... I am willing to give this president an opportunity to try his strategy," proclaimed Conservative Rabbi Steven Wernick. Reform leader Rabbi Eric Yoffie pointed out that "when it came to substance, not a single participant told the president: 'You're wrong.'"

No one raised concerns about the manner in which their president had embraced the Arab narrative and expressed moral equivalence between both parties. No one responded to Obama's outrageously patronizing remarks about the need for Israelis to "engage in serious self-reflection." No one pointed out that it was especially incongruous for the first African-American president to deny Jews the right to take up residence in Jerusalem, the cradle of Jewish civilization. Nobody suggested that by distancing the US from Israel, Obama was effectively discouraging the Palestinians from making peace.

However there is a ray of light. The statement recently released by Alan Solow and Malcolm Hoenlein, chairman and executive vice president of the Presidents' Conference, condemning the administration for its heavy-handed treatment of Israel in relation to Jerusalem may be significant. For Solow, until now a dedicated Obama supporter who had originally requested the meeting with the president, to publicly express such views may signal that Obama's negative attacks on Israel are at last beginning to affect his Democrat supporters. Similar remarks by David Harris of the American Jewish Committee criticizing Obama to a congressional group also reflect rising distress among Democrats as they begin to absorb the hollowness of the president's stated concern for the welfare of Israel.

A public campaign must be launched. It is crucial that the case for Israel not rest exclusively with Jewish Republicans or Christian evangelicals. Jewish Democrats must be at the forefront if the bipartisan approach which for decades has been the hallmark of US policy toward Israel is to be retained.

Democrat champions for Israel like Alan Dershowitz should explain to Obama why employing so-called "tough love" against Israel is both immoral and counterproductive.

The burden rests on American Jews. Hopefully they will succeed in persuading Obama that if he seeks to 'engage' with tyrants and enemies of freedom, he can do no less than behave likewise to the only democratic state in the region and stop bombarding them with diktats. They must stand up and be counted. Jewish activists should make Obama understand that if he continues to appease Arabs by distancing the US from Israel and reneging on prior American commitments, the Jewish community, including many of his most devoted followers, will conclude that he betrayed them.

Exposing Anti-Semitism

Anti-Zionist cloak for anti-Semitism

Doug, thank you for introducing yourself. That being said, it appears you're not only suffering from murderous anti-Semitism but delude yourself you're "only" anti-Zionist. That's what cowards hide behind who are less than honest with themselves or others.

You engage in murderous lies, character assassination, against all Jews who are Zionists as collaborators with the accursed RCC. Yet none of the Torah observant Jews I know subscribe to Masonry and they hate the bloody Vatican and vile Roman Catholic Cult like I do, as a Christian Zionist. This was evident by our staunch opposition to the pagan pope's visit to the Holy Land of Israel, escorted by UNJews like Shimon Peres.

Many prophecies clearly speak of the restoration of Jews and the reclamation of the Promised Land of Israel in these latter days.

Is it possible God utilized less than savory characters at times to create the Jewish Homeland of Israel, as he did with the United States? Where's your concern and condemnation that British-Israelite cities like Washington and London are laid out according to Masonic design?

Would you have vainly opposed any help from the pagan King Cyrus who was instrumental in bankrolling the Jewish return to Zion and supported the construction of the Temple?

Your knee-jerk reference to the "synagogue of Satan" belies a woeful or willful ignorance that it is about professing Christians, professing spiritual "Jews," not to the literal flesh and blood descendants of Judah who have been instrumental in fulfilling many prophecies about the building up of the Holy Land of Israel, establishing Jewish pioneering communities, maintaining a strong army while suffering from international pressure by Satan's useful idiots who oppose the Word and Will of God and whose opposition will soon melt away.

Doug, why not be honest and go educate yourself and let the truth set you free and then dare to share it with others and be blessed?

Jerusalem made famous by Jews

Why Should Israel Have Jerusalem?

************

The Israeli Jews, stewards for all Twelve Tribes of Israel, must acknowledge their biblical right, first and foremost, to the biblical city of Jerusalem, and seal it with the liberation and restoration of the Temple Mount. What other people or holy book have made Jerusalem famous worldwide? To shy away from this clear biblical mandate to liberate and annex, to go and grow, survive and thrive, in every area of the Promised Land of Israel, capital Jerusalem, undermines their blessings from God and begrudging respect from the nations.

Regardless of pressure from the bloody Vatican and unclean birds like Shimon Peres and dangerous UNJews, the few faithful Jews must do all they can to withstand Jerusalem’s betrayal and rape.

A Tale of Two Border Patrol Policemen and Seven Settlers

A Tale of Two Border Patrol Policemen and Seven Settlers
Nadia Matar, Women in Green

Yesterday the Arutz 7 web site had a film in which we see two Border Patrol policemen attacking a Jewish demonstrator from the lovers of Eretz Israel camp and sadistically abusing him. According to most of the responses to the report, the public was shocked by the Border Patrol violence. I, however, am no longer surprised by any police violence. I was shocked by something that, in my humble opinion, is more serious: by the inaction and lack of response by the seven Jews, settlers, who stood by, still to what was happening, and did not step in. I must point out that they did, politely, express their protest: "Hey, stop abusing him," "What's going on here," "Enough," but they did not physically intervene.

This scene reminds me of the old sad joke about the eight Jews who are walking around in Europe and two non-Jews come towards them. One Jew asks the others: "Oy vey, what will we do? We are eight and they are two! Let's run away!"

I want to ask the young men who are seen in the film, who were present during the sadistic abuse of their friends: Master of the Universe! In the film you look at least 18 years old. Strong youth, who might even have undergone some krav maga (self-defense) training. Why didn't you defend your friend? According to the film, you could easily have overpowered the two Border Patrol policemen, and taken their hands off your friend's face, so they would at least have stopped choking him! I know that they filled all your heads not to raise a hand against a policeman or soldier, but they meant to say that we should not initiate violence. Here, this was a case of self-defense, against an attack. Anyone who defends himself against police violence, or any other kind of violence, is not violent, but is simply defending himself or his fellow. Obviously, it is important to film and document the event, so that the police will not be able to concoct a fake case of "assaulting a police officer."

I wouldn't have made anything of this, if such scenarios didn't repeat themselves over and over again. The picture presented by the film reminds me of the fury I felt when I watched a recording of the events of Amona, in which we see a policeman enter a room and bring down his club again, again, and yet again on dozens of the people sitting on the floor in the room. My initial anger was naturally directed against the policeman, but after a few seconds I said to myself: Master of the Universe! How is it that, of the dozens of young men in the room, a few didn't get up, to take the club away from the policeman's hands! And if the reports are correct, that all the young folks there were handcuffed, to prove their being nonviolent, then they should have gotten up on their feet and used their feet until the policeman stopped raining down blows on them. This isn't violence, this is self-defense.

The time has come to look at the conduct of our public in light of the attacks against us. The late Adir Zik always said that a considerable part of our public is sick with the "second-rate" disease. That is, it suffers from feelings of inferiority to the secular-leftist public. Others would say that we learn baseless love too extremely, so that we have lost the ability to be angry with those who do us injustice. Yet others will say that the genes of the galut (exile) are still embedded within us. Whatever the reason, the time has come to stop the policy of turning the other cheek. No more hugging a soldier or policemen who come to destroy our home, and we won't let a violent policeman carry out his designs without defending ourselves.

Does this mean that we have to be violent? Should we act like our ultra-Orthodox brothers? Many have said that if we had struggled over every house in Gush Katif like the ultra-Orthodox behaved this week after the mother's arrest, we would still be in Gush Katif. Possibly. But what can we do ... our public isn't capable of that, and perhaps that's all for the best.

Our strength lies elsewhere: the way for our camp to stop the expulsion decrees is:

(1) Nonparticipation by our soldiers in the destruction mission, certainly not in the innermost circle, but not even in the outermost one. The mission of destroying the outposts cannot be implemented without the army. Thank God, there are tens of thousands of young men from our camp in the army. All of us, today, and not tomorrow, must pick up a telephone and call our soldier sons and make it clear to them that we expect them to remain loyal to their mission, namely, the defense of the people and the land, and not, Heaven forbid, participation in the destruction of settlements and the handing over of portions of the homeland to the Arab enemy.

(2) A nonviolent, but mass, struggle: our camp numbers hundreds of thousands of Jews loyal to Eretz Israel who understand that the destruction of 23 outposts is the first phase of the destruction of the entire settlement enterprise in Judea and Samaria. If and when we will have to defend the outposts, it must be clear to us all that we are not going to work, we are not going to study in the yeshivah or the girls' mikhlalah (seminary), but we are taking to the streets and going to the outposts in our masses, sitting in on the main roads and preventing the security forces from reaching their target. If necessary, we will remain a day, two days, or even a week. This isn't a demonstration. This is a battle, a battle for the private and national home.

These two principles would have saved Gush Katif and northern Samaria. Unfortunately, they were not put into practice, because of rabbis who opposed refusing orders and leaders who organized bombastic two-hour demonstrations at the Western Wall and in Malkhei Yisrael Square, but were incapable of leading a true struggle.

Now is the time to correct the mistakes that were made in 2005. This is even more actual and urgent today, when we were informed of the preparations by the IDF and the Border Patrol for the destruction of 23 outposts. For the young people who were seen in the film and all other youth, the time has come to participate in courses in krav maga and self-defense. Not in order to be violent, Heaven forbid, but for the reasons of self-defense, mutual responsibility, and the defense of Eretz Israel.

Ă˜bama Bans Jewish Leader From Meeting

Jewish Leader Banned From Ă˜bama Meeting
Ever since President Barack Obama took office, Jewish leaders have been asking for a meeting with him. The White House, apparently thinking Jewish support for Obama was in the pocket, put them off. But a major Jewish leader says that after Newsmax.com reported on deep concerns in the Jewish community about Obama’s Middle East initiatives and statements, the White House responded quickly by asking 14 top Jewish leaders to meet with the president on July 13. Yet that important Jewish leader, Morton Klein, president of the Zionist Organization of America, says he was barred from attending the meeting because of criticism he aimed at Obama. In June, Newsmax reported that Klein and ...

Israeli rabbis warn Obama

250 Rabbis Sign Letter to Obama: Hands off Jerusalem
Heads of the Pikuach Nefesh rabbinical committee have begun collecting the signatures of rabbis in Israel on a letter to United States President Barack Obama. The letter demands that Obama cease talking about ending Jewish construction in Jerusalem and stop pressuring Israel in that direction.

In a reference to the upcoming “nine days” which culminate in Tisha B’Av, the rabbis tell Obama that “during these days, in which the Jewish people mourns the destruction of Jerusalem and marks the disgraceful memory of its destroyers, we are certain that you, Mr. Barack Obama, do not want to enter that disreputable list of those who raise their hand to strike Jerusalem and those who live in it.”

Let the esteemed rabbis remind the world that president usurper Obama/Soetoro/Obama has failed to bring any of his documents to light, especially his long form birth certificate, keeping America in the dark, and that such a shady character has little credibility and undermines it all the more with his shaky stance against Jerusalem and Jews.

Let the rabbis go pray on the Temple Mount and make a statement Jerusalem is Jewish forever and those who oppose such facts always become so much history.

Erez Halfon Joins Nefesh B’Nefesh as Vice Chairman

Former Director General of Ministry of Immigrant Absorption
Erez Halfon Joins Nefesh B’Nefesh as Vice Chairman
Following almost a decade of public service, Halfon to continue
to advocate for Aliyah from the private sector

(JERUSALEM; 19 JULY 2009) – Nefesh B’Nefesh today announced the appointment of former Director General of the Ministry of Immigrant Absorption, Erez Halfon, as Vice Chairman of the organization. Halfon will assume the new position on September 1, 2009 and be responsible for enhancing the organization’s strategic partnerships with Israeli government bodies and agencies, and furthering its ties within the Jewish World.

The appointment comes at a pivotal time for Nefesh B’Nefesh, as it experiences a record year of Aliyah, with over 3,000 Olim arriving this summer alone, and as its operations are increasing in order to meet the growing demand.

Halfon will be joining the organization after serving as Director General of the Ministry of Immigrant Absorption for nearly three years, in which time he instituted various reforms which vastly improved the absorption process for Olim and returning citizens. Most celebrated among them was the implementation of an extensive international campaign to attract returning citizens back to Israel, including the introduction of new tax breaks for Olim and returning citizens. As Director General, he was responsible for 650 employees while overseeing a budget of over NIS 1.5 billion. Prior to his tenure at the Ministry, Halfon served under Prime Ministers Ariel Sharon and Ehud Olmert (2001-2006) during which he served as special counsel to the Prime Minister with regard to the Municipal Councils, was a member of the special planning forum for the Prime Minister as well as additional leading supporting roles for each Prime Minister.

“We are privileged and deeply honored that Erez Halfon has decided to continue his work towards enhancing western Aliyah, by joining Nefesh B’Nefesh,” said Co-Founder and Chairman of Nefesh B’Nefesh Tony Gelbart. “His wealth of experience, dedication to Aliyah and intimate knowledge of Israeli governmental bodies will be an invaluable resource to our organization and will greatly help improve the Aliyah process for Olim.”

“After working closely with Nefesh B’Nefesh over the last few years and observing their dedication, professionalism and major achievements in increasing western Aliyah, I am excited to join the organization,” said Erez Halfon. “I look forward to continuing to help further improve the Aliyah process for Olim by working with Nefesh B’Nefesh, from within, to meet this challenge.”

“Having such a prominent key player in the Ministry of Immigrant Absorption join our executive team, as we approach the milestone of bringing our 25,000th Oleh, is a significant achievement for the organization,” said Rabbi Yehoshua Fass, NBN Co-Founder and Executive Director. “Erez has been a true friend and supporter and we are confident that his commitment and passion for Aliyah will be an invaluable resource in helping us bring thousands more Jews to Israel.”
